In April 2006, Summerfield Int. School has successfully linked up with Durham Community Business College
in UK under the Global School Link-up project conducted by British Council. This will give an international
exposure to the students of Summerfield through combined projects, and exchange of educational activities and learning resources.
In future under this programme we will also conduct teacher and students visits.
The following projects are currently being conducted by students of Grade VI and VII from both the schools:
1. Child Labour: The students of Summerfield and Durham College exchanged projects on child labour involving interviews,
essays, and pictures, highlighting the extent and cause of child labour in Bangladesh and the and how the students of our school
perceive it as.
2. "Whats it like..." : This is aimed to promote culture and social exchange between students of the two schools.
In this work the students have described about themselves, their country and heritage, and have received the same from
their partner school. It has helped the students to understand each other better and gaining knowldege of socio-cultural
background of another country.
3. Our next project will be on conservation focusing on wildlife, energy reserves etc.
